UO Innovation Challenge
I was one of five students working for the UO Center for Entrepreneruship that took on the challenge of rebuilding the center from the ground up. We wanted the center to embrace innovation and work towards empowering entrepreneurs, builders, creators, and researchers all across campus.
Over two years, we helped the center raise $15,000,000. We increased participation among the existing audience, business school undergrads and MBAs, while also getting PhD candidates, art students, STEM majors, and even school faculty to participate.
Year one I was in the weeds building the program, doing a bit of everything. Year two I transitioned over to more of a brand management position once we partnered with Allen Hall Advertising for our marketing.
We founded three new initiatives.
Oregon Innovation Challenge: On-campus incubator for student startups that includes workshops, one-on-one mentoring, training, a peer community, a pitch competition, and up to $10,000 funding for top projects.
Startups & Slices: Weekly speaker series (with free pizza!) featuring successful founders and execs.
V10 Summit: Weekend retreat at Timberline Lodge, hosted by UO, for top student entrepreneurs across the country.
